FAQ's

 

Who is eligible to play? 
Rising 8th graders, high level 7th graders and extremely high level 6th graders.  

Is there an age restriction?
No.  However, players are asked to provide proof of grade. 
 

Are players required to play for their area team?
No, a player can play for any team in the league regardless of where they live
 
Where will games be played?
Games will be played at various gyms in the Washington Metropolitan and surrounding areas. 
 
How many players per team?
10-14 PLAYERS PER TEAM 
 
How does this league benefit my child?
The PYBL will allow your child to compete in a showcase event for several weeks during the winter or summer.   


What makes this league different?
the pybl is the only league in the metro area dedicated to the elite middle school players.


Are there any player fees?
The following fees are associated with the PYBL
Player Tryout:  $20.00 per player (non-refundable)

PLAYER REGISTRATION: $125.00 PER PLAYER (NON-REFUNDABLE) fee will increase to $175.00 if pass registration date 


Can a player try out for more than one team?

Yes. 
 
My son enjoys playing basketball with his friends and as an 8th grader this could be their last season together. Can he play for his area team as well PYBL? 
Yes, we will MAKE an effort to work with all major leagues (BOYS & GIRLS CLUB, CYO, ETC)  in the area. We support each of them.  There are no rules stating a player must only play in our league. 
  
Will the PYBL affect  anything that we're currently doing? 
PYBL will do our best to work with all area leagues to avoid scheduling conflicts. As an example of our effort to coexist there will be a bye week for the entire league during the AAU nationals championship week. 


HOW MUCH PLAYING TIME IS GUARANTEED?

PLAYING TIME IS TO BE EARNED.  THERE IS NO SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF PLAYING TIME PER PLAYER.
